Monitoring Mode
Monitoring mode lets you track conversions in Convultra without forwarding them to ad platforms. Conversions are recorded and visible in the dashboard, but they are not sent to Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Ads, or any other connected integration.
When to use monitoring mode
| Use case | Description |
|---|---|
| Testing new projects | Verify that your SDK installation, conversion calls, and data flow are working correctly before sending data to live ad accounts. |
| Internal analytics | Use Convultra as a standalone analytics tool without affecting ad platform campaign data or optimization. |
| Compliance review | Audit what data Convultra is collecting before enabling platform forwarding. |
| A/B testing tracking setup | Compare two tracking configurations side by side without polluting production ad platform data. |
How it works
When monitoring mode is enabled:
- The SDK continues to capture all events (pageviews, conversions, click IDs, etc.) as normal.
- Events are processed and stored in the Convultra database.
- Events appear in the dashboard under Conversions, Visitors, and all other views.
- No events are forwarded to any connected ad platform integration.
When monitoring mode is disabled, forwarding resumes immediately for all new incoming events.
Events that were tracked while monitoring mode was enabled are not retroactively forwarded when you disable monitoring mode. Only new events received after disabling monitoring mode will be sent to ad platforms.
Configuration
- Navigate to Settings -> Project Settings -> Tracking Settings.
- Find the Monitoring Mode toggle.
- Enable or disable as needed.
- Click Save.
Changes take effect immediately.
Permissions
Enabling or disabling monitoring mode requires the project owner or admin role. Team members with viewer or editor roles cannot change this setting.
Impact on recovery metrics
Recovery metrics compare Convultra-tracked conversions against platform-reported conversions. When monitoring mode is enabled, no conversions are forwarded to platforms, so there is no platform-reported baseline to compare against. Recovery metrics will be unavailable or inaccurate during monitoring mode.
If you are evaluating Convultra's recovery capabilities, disable monitoring mode and run with live forwarding to at least one ad platform.
Dashboard indicator
When monitoring mode is active, a Monitoring Mode badge is displayed in the dashboard header and on the project settings page. This serves as a visual reminder that conversions are not being forwarded.
